TV24: Positive balance after one and a half months

One and a half months after its launch, the newest national TV station, TV24, is reporting positive results. According to the station, some programs achieved market shares of up to 9.8 percent.

This figure was achieved during the broadcast of the Swiss in-house productions "Fashion Run - das Shoppingduell" in the target group of 15 to 49 year olds. TV24 News, broadcast daily at 10 p.m., came in at a peak of 1.1 percent in the same target group. Among documentaries, series and feature films, the cooking show "Nigelissima" came up trumps with a top score of 2 percent among the household-owning 20- to 49-year-olds, the station's statement added. Starting in the fall, TV24 plans to add Swiss short films to its lineup.

The advertising-financed station can be received digitally via several cable networks and via Swisscom TV throughout Switzerland. It broadcasts in HD quality. TV24 says it will reach 2.65 million households. The studio is located in Zurich. With the new national channel, Aargau publisher Peter Wanner is strengthening his ambitions in the television market of German-speaking Switzerland. AZ Medien also owns the regional TV stations Tele M1, Tele Züri and Tele Bärn. (SDA)
