Thuner Tagblatt and Berner Oberländer with new editors-in-chief

The Thuner Tagblatt and the Berner Oberländer are getting new editors-in-chief. Stefan Geissbühler and Bruno Stüdle are taking over from René E. Gygax.

Gygax had previously headed both editorial offices. He will retire at the end of June. This was announced on Wednesday by the Berner Oberland Medien as publisher

Stefan Geissbühler is currently Head of News and Editor at the Berner Zeitung. He also hosts the discussion program BZ-Talk on regional broadcaster Tele Bärn. Bruno Stüdle has been Editorial Director of the Berner Oberländer since 2006. He previously worked for this newspaper as a page maker and reporter.

Until now, the editorial offices of the Bernese Oberland were based in Thun and Interlaken. It will now be consolidated in Interlaken: the editorial team of the Thuner Tagblatt will remain in Thun. Berner Oberland Medien writes that these steps will enable the regionally based daily newspapers to emphasize their proximity to their readership.
