Telebasel: Biggest program renewal in seven years
New programs, a new logo, a new studio, and a revamped website: Telebasel is getting a complete makeover.

Managing Director André Moesch and Editor-in-Chief Philippe Chappuis took up the post about two years ago with the aim of returning to the successes of Telebasel's early days, when the news program "7vor7" had brought the station high ratings. It is therefore no coincidence that the new news format also plays with the broadcast time: it is called "punkt6" and will be broadcast live for the first time on May 24, punctually at 18:00.
"Yes, we want to go back to old strengths, but of course we're adapting them to the needs of today's viewers," says
Managing Director André Moesch. The quarter-hour news program "punkt6" is supplemented on weekdays by the program "punkt6
topic". Editor-in-chief Philippe Chappuis: "In punkt6 thema, we take an in-depth look at the most important regional topic of the day. Be it in interview form, as a report or with supplementary contributions." In this way, Telebasel will in future provide a total of 25 minutes of relevant regional information every day.
Modern news studio
punkt6" and "punkt6 thema" are broadcast from the newly built news studio, which is equipped with several remote-controlled cameras and a camera robot. High-resolution screens allow graphics and information texts to be superimposed. The studio has space for a maximum of four interview guests and will also be used for debates and controversial discussions.
The station's entire programming structure was tidied up and streamlined to make it more reliable for viewers. Each broadcast hour begins with the news program "punkt6," first at 6:00 p.m., followed by "punkt6 thema" and the weather. The second half-hour is followed by a different magazine show each day: On Monday, the FCB magazine "FCB total," on Tuesday the new format "Kuchigschichte" and the new animal show "Tatze, Pfote, Schnabel," on Wednesday the business magazine "Geld & Co." and the health show "Diagnose," on Thursday the culture magazine "360° Kultur," and on Friday (starting in September) the talk and entertainment show "Schabernitwohr."
On weekends, after the news on Saturday, there is room for special broadcasts and reprises of the best magazine shows, and Sunday belongs to the tried-and-true discussion show "Sonntagstalk."
Telebasel has also renewed its visual appearance from the ground up. The logo has been modernized and all broadcasting suites have been redesigned. The station's website has also been completely redesigned in conjunction with the program relaunch. At telebasel.ch, programs can be viewed online and background information on the program and the station can be found. In the new video player for the news program "punkt6", the various contributions and topics of the program are clearly listed and can be played individually. The new TV website thus completes the announced division of the BaselMedia Foundation's online offering: baseljetzt.ch as an independent news portal and telebasel.ch as the website for Telebasel's television offering.
