The new magazine would be published 18 times a year with a circulation of 100,000 copies, the Zurich-based media company Tamedia announced on Monday. However, the publishing house emphasizes that it will continue to Le Matin will not be sold. At the moment, Tamedia does not want to give any details about the budget, schedule or effects on staff. The publisher wanted to "clarify" the situation after rumors emerged last week (Werbewoche.ch reported), Tamedia's press service said on Monday at the request of the Keystone-SDA agency. Two options are being considered: In the first, Constantin would manage the entire project and also determine the publishing line, while Tamedia would provide the services. The media company would provide the brand and print the magazine.

Meeting with Supino

In the second option, Tamedia would be responsible for the publishing management. Constantin, in turn, would raise the necessary sponsorship money to finance the title. "We are still at the project stage, everything is still very fresh," said Tamedia spokesperson Patrick Matthey on request. The idea was born on June 21 in Sion at a meeting between Christian Constantin and Tamedia Chairman of the Board of Directors Pietro Supino. Tamedia Romandie's editorial teams went on strike for three days last Tuesday afternoon. They were protesting against the planned discontinuation of the printed edition of the daily newspaper at the end of July Le Matin. 41 employees are at risk of losing their jobs. Under the aegis of the Vaud government, conciliation negotiations will begin on Monday (today) at 2 pm. Tamedia will not provide information about the meeting, as the exchange is confidential. (SDA)
