Tamedia plans job cuts at Lausanne printing center
As a result of a reorganization, Tamedia is planning job cuts at the Lausanne printing center in Bussigny VD. Around half of the 130 employees will be able to stay, the others will be offered a job at the Bern printing center.
The measures are still subject to the results of the ongoing consultation, a company spokesman told Keystone-SDA news agency on Friday.
The background to the changeover is a new shift model to be introduced at the beginning of 2023. This is intended to enable balanced employment in day and night operations.
No measures are currently planned at the company's other print shops.
Union criticizes dismantling
The Syndicom trade union criticized the planned cutbacks at the Bussigny site in a statement on Friday. The company must find socially and financially acceptable solutions for those affected. Early retirements and forced relocations would not be among the measures to be expected from a responsible employer.
Syndicom also accuses Tamedia, which belongs to the TX Group, of once again using the measure to increase the company's profits at the expense of French-speaking Switzerland. (SDA)
