Tamedia: New Digital Advertising & Services division
Tamedia is creating the Digital Advertising & Services division as of April 1, 2013. Stephan Obwegeser, previously Managing Director of Search.ch, will take over the management. He will be succeeded by Urs Hügli.
Digital Advertising & Services ensures a joint online advertising strategy, coordinates Group-wide activities in the digital advertising business and provides services such as the further development of advertising technology, traffic management and the marketing of overarching products, as detailed in a press release on Wednesday. The new unit is part of the Digital division under the management of Christoph Brand.
Stephan Obwegeser, 38, has made a significant contribution to the successful development of Search.ch in recent years. He is an online specialist and has more than 15 years of experience in the digital advertising business, including as Publishing Director of 20 Minuten Online and Head of Online Development at Tamedia. He is Co-President of IAB Switzerland, the Swiss industry association for the digital advertising industry.
Urs Hügli, currently Head of Classified Online at Tamedia, will take over the management of Search.ch from April 1, 2013. As CEO of Homegate from 2001 to 2009, the 53-year-old played a key role in the successful development of Homegate.ch. As Head of Classified Online, he was then responsible for the further development of job activities and oversaw the acquisition of Jobs.ch. As announced, the Homegate.ch, Car4you.ch and Piazza.ch platforms will in future report directly to Christoph Brand, Head of Digital at Tamedia. Urs Hügli will remain a member of the Homegate Board of Directors.
