Tages-Anzeiger: Convergent editorial team in place

Starting in mid-2013, the combined editorial team of the *Tages-Anzeiger* and *Newsnet* will be led by a three-member editorial board: Editor-in-Chief Res Strehle, Michael Marti, and Arthur Rutishauser. The daily editors are Dominique Eigenmann, Patrick Kühnis, Samuel Reber, and Alain Zucker.

According to the press release, the department heads were appointed as follows: Switzerland will be headed by Daniel Foppa and deputy René Lenzin, International by Luciano Ferrari and deputy Christoph Münger, Background by Hannes Nussbaumer and deputy Thomas Widmer, Zurich by Edgar Schuler and deputy Simon Eppenberger. The Economy Department is headed by Rita Flubacher and the deputies Angela Barandun and Matthias Chapman. The Culture & Society department is headed by Guido Kalberer and deputy Philippe Zweifel, and the Sports department by Fredy Wettstein and deputy Ueli Kägi. The Knowledge Team will continue to be headed by Matthias Meili and his deputy Martin Läubli. The online-only news team is headed by Marc Brupbacher, with Rupen Boyadjian and Martin Sturzenegger as deputies.

A new Production & Design department will be created for all channels, headed by Thomas Speich and deputy Sarah Pfäffli. Also newly created is a research team, led by Thomas Knellwolf and deputy Monica Fahmy. The two other newly created teams are Letters to the Editor/Social Media, headed by Christian Lüscher, and Image/Multimedia, headed by Jan Derrer. His deputy will be Petra Baumann. The Züritipp team remains unchanged under the leadership of Yann Chérix and deputy Corina Freudiger. Gilbert Bötschi takes over the management of IT.

The total of around 200 editors will continue to work on their traditional topics in the new teams and departments as far as possible and desired. Due to mutually agreed early retirements and departures that were not replaced, it was possible to avoid redundancies as part of the merger of the two editorial teams.
