Tagblatt der Stadt Zürich: Andy Fischer becomes Editor-in-Chief and Managing Director
Andy Fischer will assume the roles of editor-in-chief and managing director of the *Tagblatt der Stadt Zürich* effective February 1, 2012. He will succeed Markus Hegglin, who will step down at that time for health reasons.
Markus Hegglin will in future be responsible for various projects on a mandate basis at the media company Tamedia, as detailed in a press release on Monday. The 45-year-old Andy Fischer has worked for radio and print media for the past 20 years. After working for Radio Zürisee and Radio Z, where he was chief reporter and deputy editor-in-chief, he joined 20 Minuten in 2001, first as head of the Zurich department and from 2004 as deputy editor-in-chief. As the man at the forefront of the commuter newspaper, Andy Fischer is partly responsible for the success story of 20 Minuten. In his long media career, he has been able to demonstrate his skills as a team player and motivator.
The Tagblatt der Stadt Zürich is the official gazette of the city of Zurich and is distributed to city households on Wednesdays. With a circulation of 141,467 copies, the Tagblatt reaches around one in two people in Zurich. Tagblatt der Stadt Zürich AG is owned by Tamedia and the NZZ media group.
