Job cuts: Ringier Advertising lays off six people
Six employees were laid off at Ringier Advertising on Tuesday. Ringier’s marketing division is taking this measure as a «response to declining advertising revenue in the print sector,» according to a statement.

Ringier Advertising announced this "extremely difficult but necessary step" internally on Tuesday, it added. The Brand Studio, Media Services and Sales Steering divisions are affected by the redundancies. The move is justified by the challenging situation in the print sector, "which has been in decline for years" and has worsened in the current year.
In order to "remain sustainable and competitive in the long term", proactive countermeasures are essential. In addition to a strategic adjustment of the business model, this includes the adjustment of resources. Ringier's social plan applies to the six employees affected.
