City of Thun: Peter Jost becomes editor-in-chief at Schweizer Familie

Peter Jost, who has headed the City Marketing and Communications department since the beginning of 2019, is leaving the City of Thun on June 30, 2024 to take over as editor-in-chief of "Schweizer Familie".

Peter Jost is stepping down as Head of Thun's City Marketing and Communications Department at the end of June 2024. He will take over as editor-in-chief of the family magazine Swiss familyas the city announced. The magazine has around half a million readers, making it one of the magazines with the widest reach in Switzerland. He succeeds Daniel Dunkel, who has managed the magazine for more than 20 years and is retiring next year.

The 49-year-old journalist is thus returning to the media industry. Before joining Thun, Jost was editor-in-chief of the Bernese Newspaper. Under the leadership of Peter Jost, the city of Thun has proactively responded to the changing media landscape in its communications in recent years, investing heavily in digital channels and drawing attention to itself with original social media activities. In addition, the website was relaunched and brought up to date, which was recently honored with a Digital Communication Award in Berlin. The search for a successor has already begun and the position will be advertised in the next few days.
