Although Jean-Bernard Münch has not yet made a binding statement about when he intends to step down as SRG Chairman, Sonntag writes. However, everything indicates that it will be at the end of 2011. Several people close to Viktor Baumeler, a member of the SRG Board of Directors with a declared interest in the presidency, have confirmed that the 62-year-old is currently lobbying on his own behalf. The newspaper concludes from the fact that he has withdrawn from the nomination committee, which is making the first soundings in the search for a new president, that he is seeking the office - after all, as a committee member he could not nominate himself.
