SRG German-speaking Switzerland seeks successor to Roger Blum
Roger Blum, the ombudsman for SRG Deutschschweiz (SRG.D), is stepping down from his post at the end of his regular four-year term. The Public Council of SRG Deutschschweiz has decided to split his position into two part-time roles.

The two positions will each have a salary of 30 to 40 percent, SRG.D announced on Tuesday. They will be filled from April 2020 and have been publicly advertised. Blum will continue to make an important contribution to the exchange between the broadcasters and the audience in the remaining months, Susanne Hasler, president of the SRG.D audience council, was quoted as saying in the statement.
Roger Blum took office on April 1, 2016, succeeding Achille Casanova. From 2008 to 2015, he was President of the Independent Complaints Authority for Radio and Television (UBI). Prior to that, he already served as SRG's deputy ombudsman for three years. Blum also served as president of the Press Council from 1991 to 2001.
The ombudsman is the first point of contact for complaints about radio and television broadcasts and the rest of the journalistic offering of Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF). He, or in future the two persons, will examine the complaints and mediate between the parties involved. (SDA)
