SRG.D: Viktor Baumeler remains president
The Regional Council, the supreme body of SRG Deutschschweiz, yesterday held its periodic elections to the presidency and regional board of the company: SRG.D President remains Viktor Baumeler.
Vice President Niklaus Ullrich was also confirmed. Esther Gassler, Alexia Heine and Urs Rellstab were re-elected as members of the Regional Board. One seat on the Regional Board remains vacant. It is to be filled in spring 2012, according to an SRG press release. The current term of office of the SRG.D Presidium and Regional Board ends on December 31, 2011, meaning that the Regional Council had to elect a new President, Vice-President and the other members of the Board to be elected by the Regional Council.
In addition to the President and the four members elected ex officio by the Regional Council, from next year the Regional Board will also include the President and the Presidents of the six German-speaking Swiss member organizations: Evi Rigg (SRG Zurich Schaffhausen), Andreas Schefer (SRG Bern Fribourg Valais), Niklaus Ullrich (SRG Basel Region), Erich Niederer (SRG Eastern Switzerland), Niklaus Zeier (SRG Central Switzerland) and Peter Studer (SRG Aargau Solothurn). Karin Keller-Sutter and Urs Gasche will no longer be members of the new regional board. Both were elected to the Federal Parliament in October and resigned as members of the Regional Board at the end of November 2011 due to the incompatibility of their positions.
Three new delegates elected to the DV SRG
In addition to the positions on the Executive Committee and the SRG.D Regional Board, the mandates of the 18 SRG.D delegates to the SRG Assembly of Delegates were also renewed. The President of SRG.D and the Presidents of the six German-speaking Swiss member companies are ex officio delegates. The remaining eleven delegates have now been elected by the Regional Council on the recommendation of the member companies, including the previous delegates Peter Flury, Gerhard Frey, Robert Gamma, Susanne Hasler, Christine Hatz, Léander Jaggi, Andreas Melchior and Arthur Oehler, as well as Marcel Cuttat, Dorette Kaufmann and Werner Marti.
