What challenges do families face in their everyday lives and what does a family need to master them? Three families of four people each (parents and two children) compete in different disciplines. They have to prove themselves in typical everyday situations and show how well they know and assess each other. Physical and mental versatility is required in rounds of games based on generic terms such as "love", "fun", "chaos", "adventure" and "challenge". Singer-songwriter Tim Bendzko supports the three families in a game and presents his latest hit in the show.

Tasks are set in the run-up to the show that have to be solved. In the studio, the families then compete against each other in six exciting rounds and collect points for the final, whereby the emotional impact of the candidate families on the audience in the studio also plays a role.
