SRF, ARD Degeto and ORF launch the "Cinema & TV Award
For the first time, SRF, ARD Degeto, and ORF are calling on production companies from German-speaking countries to submit proposals for the new award. They are seeking ideas for a modern comedy that explores the complex relationships between Swiss, Austrians, and Germans.
What do we think of ourselves and how do our neighbors see us? The relationship between the three countries does not have to be the core of the story, but the idea should have comedic potential for all three nations. The prize is a financial contribution to a treatment development of 10,000 euros and the chance to develop the material in cooperation with Swiss radio and television, ARD Degeto and ORF to the final script for a cinema and TV film.
Comedic projects welcome
Susanne Wille, Head of Department SRF Culture: "SRF's TV audience and the users of the streaming platform 'Play Suisse' particularly appreciate films with a humorous, light tone. With this award, we want to signal that we welcome comedic film projects. We are very pleased to be able to open a window across borders into the German-speaking world with this award in cooperation with ARD Degeto and ORF."
The authors should have already written for film or television, and the producers should have produced for film or television. The synopsis may have three to a maximum of five pages. Writers and directors may only submit in conjunction with a production company.The deadline for submissions is August 31, 2023.
