Sunday newspaper cooperates with The Economist
The Sonntagszeitung and the British news magazine The Economist have signed an exclusive exclusive cooperation agreement for Switzerland.
Starting Sunday, July 2, 2012, the Sonntagszeitung will expand its coverage of international topics and adopt the best articles from the renowned British weekly on a weekly basis, according to a statement. Selected articles and analyses on world politics, economics and finance will be translated and published by Sonntagszeitung exclusively for Switzerland.
"We are pleased to be able to offer our readers reading material on international topics that is among the best in the world, over and above the articles we have researched ourselves. We are consciously investing in journalistic content: On the one hand, by greatly expanding our resources for investigative journalism at home with the creation of the new research desk in Bern. On the other hand, by working with the strongest journalistic talents at the international level and achieving concrete added value for our readership," says Martin Spieler, Editor-in-Chief of the Sonntagszeitung, about the new collaboration.
The contractual agreements stipulate that the articles taken over can be shortened or expanded to include Swiss aspects, as Spieler told SDA in response to an inquiry. A mutual exchange of articles is not planned for the time being.
