SF: Docu-series "Criminal Cases - The 7 Deadly Sins" honored again
On Saturday, the Swiss Bar Association SAV awarded the film "Greed and the evil consequences" by Hansjürg Zumstein from the documentary series "Criminal cases - the 7 deadly sins". This is the second award that the series from 2010 has received.
In his film, Hansjürg Zumstein tells the story of the so-called European Kings Club: more than 15 years ago, thousands of Swiss people invested in a Ponzi scheme, but instead of a 70% guaranteed return, the result was a total loss. In front of Zumstein's camera, the Kings Club initiators spoke for the first time about the huge fiasco. SF 1 broadcast the documentary on July 15, 2010.
According to a press release from the Swiss Bar Association (SAV), the media prize was awarded to journalistic work on the nature and values of Swiss law and its instances or on legal professions, as well as critical contributions on the existing legal system. "With his easy-to-understand film from the documentary series 'Kriminalfälle - die 7 Todsünden', Hansjürg Zumstein has succeeded in shedding light on the dark machinations of this criminal organization in a well-researched manner," explained jury member and laudator Martin Hofer, member of the management team at PR agency Burson-Marsteller. "Hansjürg Zumstein's contribution left the competition far behind."
