SDA strike: first discussion with BoD has taken place
About 300 people demonstrated in front of SRG in Lausanne on Thursday. At the same time, a three-member delegation from the Editorial Commission met with a delegation from the SDA Board of Directors for preliminary talks. According to the Syndicom union, these talks reportedly took place «in a constructive atmosphere.» The strikers will continue the strike tomorrow as well, but plan to discuss how to proceed from there.

The first meeting with a delegation from the Editorial Commission was attended by President Hans Heinrich Coninx, Vice President Hanspeter Lebrument, Head of Audit Matthias Hagemann and CEO Markus Schwab. According to Syndicom, the preliminary talks lasted around two and a half hours and took place in a constructive and solution-oriented atmosphere. The BoD was prepared to enter into negotiations on various points with the editorial team and the unions in the coming weeks.
The support of the SDA strikers was again broad. Some SRG employees also showed solidarity and welcomed their SDA colleagues with coffee and pastries. "In addition to the President of the Vaud Trade Union Federation, Yves Defferrard, SP National Councilor Ada Marra and FDP National Councilor Olivier Feller also showed their solidarity and pleaded for the preservation of SDA in its current form and size," the Syndicom and Impressum unions wrote in a joint statement.
In view of the willingness to talk, which only came about after massive pressure from the workforce, the assembled staff in Lausanne had decided to decide tomorrow on the further course of action. Thus, the strike will enter its fourth day on Friday, February 2.
