Swiss month with special literature supplement
The literary magazine *Schweizer Monat* has launched *Literarischer Monat*. This special bimonthly publication is dedicated to Swiss literature, its leading figures, and its themes.
The launch bucks the trend of sacrificing literary pages for auto columns, writes Michael Wiederstein, head of the culture department, in a communiqué. Editorially, the editors are focusing on interviews, correspondence, columns, essays and short reviews that scan the local book market. Special attention will be paid to a stimulating mix of up-and-coming literary talent and already established writers, Wiederstein added. As a newcomer, the first edition brings Regina Dürig. The writer from Biel will publish her first novel this fall and has exchanged letters with Wiederstein on the subject of "Authorship and the Literary Idea." In addition, Swiss literary figure Zoë Jenny explores both analog and digital book worlds in the bi-monthly book column.
