Swiss Illustrated: Redesign for its 101st birthday
To mark its 101st anniversary, *Schweizer Illustrierte* is launching a new design and a revamped concept. Starting January 1, 2013, the editorial team will also be getting some new members.
With the redesign, the magazine wants to create attractive added value for its readers in the same space, according to a statement. The layout is to be more compact and modern, and a new font will ensure better readability. The visual language is to become warmer and more intimate, according to the statement, and allow readers to feel the closeness to the people portrayed.
In the refreshed issue launch, the "People" section now includes 12-14 pages on Swiss personalities and international stars. In addition, people journalist André Häfliger joins the entertainment team of Schweizer Illustrierte as of January 1, 2013.
The central "Premium" section features classic reports, home stories and interviews on entertainment, sports, politics, business, culture and Switzerland's most beautiful regions. The service-oriented "Magazine" section at the back offers lifestyle in every price range: fashion, travel, cars, food & drink, health and events are the focus week after week.
The graphic concept was developed by the Beling Thoenen Design agency. The new issue is available on newsstands from today.
