Swiss Television Award: Newsreader Fischlin named television star
For the first time, a representative from the news media sector has been named «Swiss TV Star of the Year»: Tagesschau anchor Franz Fischlin won the title on Friday. The Swiss Television Awards were presented in various categories.
Fischlin is not just a news anchor, but "a classic anchorman", the jury found. He is able to embed news content, explain background information and ask questions. And all this in "crystal-clear language" and with an on-screen presence that is second to none.
The audience was asked to vote for the best program: the readers of Tele, TV Star and Blick chose the casting show "Die grössten Schweizer Talente". It beat out the other nominated programs "Kampf der Chöre" and "Alpenrose".
Suter film adaptation and celebrity interview
In the "Film" category, the jury awarded the prize to the film adaptation of Martin Suter's book "The Last Weynfeldt". Both the dramaturgy and the acting performances - in particular by Stefan Kurt - as well as the direction by Alain Gsponer from Zurich were convincing. "Der letzte Weynfeldt" won against the documentary "Hoselupf" and the comedy "Fliegende Fische".
"Ich und Du" is the name of the program that emerged as the winner in the "Innovation" category. The "simple but all the more entertaining celebrity section" of "G&G Weekend" on SF1 is "wonderfully funny and self-revealing", writes the jury.
The prize for Kurt Felix had already been announced in advance. The 70-year-old was awarded the Swiss Television Prize for his life's work. The audience rose to its feet for a long standing ovation. The very personal laudatory speech was given by German TV legend Frank Elstner. Kurt Felix made television history with his programs such as "Teleboy" and "Verstehen Sie Spass". (SDA)
