Swiss Television Award: Michelle Hunziker and Mathias Gnädinger honored
To kick off the 51st Rose d'Or Festival in Lucerne, Michelle Hunziker and Mathias Gnädinger were awarded this year's Swiss Television Award on Sunday evening. Hunziker received the award in the "Star" category, while Gnädinger was honored for his lifetime achievement.
Hunziker's award ("Wetten, dass...?") had already been announced in advance. The 35-year-old is the most dazzling Swiss TV export, according to the organizers. The 71-year-old Gnädiger was honored for his roles in films such as "Das Boot ist voll" and "Leo Sonnyboy" as well as appearances in more than 130 plays.
The prize for best film went to "Der Verdingbub" by Markus Imboden. It beat off competition from "Die Kinder vom Napf" by Alice Schmid and "Eine wenig, dr Dällebach Kari" by Xavier Koller, which were also nominated. The best program was "Auf und davon" (SF1). The audience chose it ahead of "SF bi de Lüüt - Unsere Stadt" and "Zürich Langstrasse". The program "Homerun" (Sat.1 Switzerland) was awarded in the Innovation category. According to the jury, the format impressed with its mixture of adventurousness, travel documentary and human drama. Also nominated were "3 auf 2" (SF2 and Radio DRS3) and "Tonspur - Der Soundtrack meines Lebens" (SF1).
The Swiss Television Prize has been awarded by Axel Springer Switzerland since 2007, this year for the first time jointly by Blick and Tele. It honors national achievements in the categories of film, broadcast, innovation and star. In addition, a personality from the TV industry is honored annually with the Lifetime Award.
