«Switzerland Today» – Here's What's Behind CH Media's New National News Portal
CH Media is launching the national news portal «Schweiz heute,» thereby bringing together the journalistic expertise of some 350 journalists. At the same time, the company is introducing a new subscription model that provides access to all digital daily newspaper offerings at a single price.

CH Media is expanding its digital news offerings: With the new news portal «Schweiz heute,» the company is creating a national platform for German-speaking Switzerland that focuses on national and international topics and combines them with the most compelling stories from the regions. The portal is now available at schweizheute.ch and as an app.
«Schweiz heute» News Portal Consolidates Editorial Resources
Behind the new portal lies the combined journalistic strength of the entire editorial network of CH Media’s daily newspapers—approximately 350 journalists. With this launch, CH Media is deliberately focusing on close collaboration between national and regional editorial teams. CEO Michael Wanner explains the approach: «Quality journalism today requires both a national perspective and regional proximity. With the new portal, we are combining these two elements even more closely and creating a new and attractive digital offering for all of Switzerland.»
To further enhance the editorial team’s impact, the domestic news desk has been reorganized in recent months. Lea Hartmann and Michael Graber are jointly taking over as editors-in-chief. Anna Wanner and Doris Kleck are focusing on new journalistic assignments. In addition, the editorial team has been strengthened by Fabian Schäfer from the «NZZ» and Céline Zahno from «Blick.».
New Subscription Model: Access to All Titles for the Same Price
Alongside the launch of the news portal, CH Media is introducing a new digital subscription model. Anyone who already subscribes to a CH Media daily newspaper will, in the future, have access to the digital content of all the company’s daily newspapers at no extra charge. Thomas Wegmann, Head of Publishing at CH Media, describes the model: «With the GA model, our readers can explore the entire universe of our newspaper titles across all of German-speaking Switzerland.»
Editor-in-Chief Patrik Müller highlights the added value of the content for users: «Our readers are increasingly interested in topics that extend far beyond their own region. With this new model, we offer them easy and appealing access to all relevant content from CH Media: national, international, and regional.»
Sharing and Further Development During Live Operations
Since this spring, users have also been able to share up to ten articles per month and easily share content with their friends and family. CH Media says it is optimizing the new platform as it rolls out and gradually developing it into a central digital news platform for Switzerland.
