Salt: Chairman of the Board Thomas Sieber resigns

On Friday, the Axpo Board of Directors decided to nominate Thomas Sieber for election as the new chairman of the board. To allow himself the necessary time for this, Thomas Sieber is stepping down as chairman of the board of Salt.

As CEO, Thomas Sieber was responsible for operational management from August 2009 to September 2012. During this time, he successfully repositioned the company (2010) and, in 2011 and 2012, equally successfully led it through the sale process from the France Telecom/Orange Group to a Swiss company owned by a private equity firm. At the same time, Thomas Sieber secured the best mix of mobile frequencies for the company in the February 2012 frequency auction. He thus laid the decisive foundation for the high quality of today's mobile broadband network. Thomas Sieber has been Chairman of the Board of Directors since October 2012.

Commenting on his move, Thomas Sieber said, "I am satisfied that I have been able to lead Orange Switzerland/Salt in a new strategic direction, successfully overcoming various challenges such as the introduction of a new owner and the smooth brand change to strengthen the company in a tough competitive environment. Now I am looking forward to the strategic challenges in a rapidly changing energy market." NJJ's Olivier Rosenfeld said, "We watched Salt's evolution over several years. With his operational and strategic contribution, Tom has helped make the company a promising investment opportunity for an industrial investor like NJJ. On behalf of the new owner, I wish Tom well in his future challenges."

In order to fully prepare for his new role at Axpo Holding AG, Thomas Sieber is stepping down as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Salt Mobile as of December 31, 2015, according to a statement. The process to find a successor has been initiated.
