RTR restructures radio program
Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha (RTR) has revamped its radio programming to place greater emphasis on spoken content. The “Aktualität” segment will be expanded and covered in greater depth. The target audience is people over the age of 30.
The new radio era of the smallest of the four SRG broadcasting chains begins next Monday under the motto "Taidlas bler - vesas cler" (Listen in - look through). The focus will be on current affairs three times a day, in the morning from 06.00 to 09.00, at midday from 11.00 to 12.30 and in the evening from 17.00 to 19.00, as RTR Director Mariano Tschuor explained in Chur on Tuesday. These news bulletins take up current topics, examine them in depth, analyze them and put them into context. Facts are to be categorized journalistically, in a narrative way, in order to make complex history understandable. "We are going back to the origins of radio, to the word," emphasized Tschuor. The current affairs programs deal with political, economic and cultural topics. There will also be reports from the world of sport, as well as colorful and miscellaneous topics.
The music program has also been revised. According to RTR, hits and evergreens dominate the current affairs tracks. The accompanying program will be "more musically profiled". Trouvailles and lesser-known titles will have their place, and Romansh music will be given even more airtime. (SDA)
