Rose d'Or: Gerhard Schröder presents the "Social Award

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder will present the Golden Rose Award for a socially conscious TV entertainment program at the Rose d’Or Awards Gala on September 22 in Lucerne.

This year, television programs from all over the world will be awarded the Golden Rose for the 50th time. This prestigious award honors originality, quality and creativity in TV entertainment. One award will be presented for the first time in the anniversary year - the "Social Award". With this special award, the Rose d'Or jury recognizes a programme that deals with social and humanitarian issues, social trends and ethical questions. The jury will decide which of the programs nominated for this category will receive the award during the Rose d'Or Festival in September. However, it was announced today who will present the winner with the "Social Award": The award presenter and laudator will be former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder.
The Rose d'Or Festival will take place this year from September 18 to 22 at the Hotel Schweizerhof in Lucerne. The Golden Roses are traditionally awarded at the end of the festival. This year, 110 programs in eleven categories have been nominated for the Rose d'Or.
