Ringier abolishes Content Hub: 10 jobs cut - Daniel Egli now heads the audio and video powerhouse

Ringier Medien Schweiz is restructuring its video and audio teams and consolidating resources both organizationally and strategically. Effective November 1, Daniel Egli will take over as head of the division and will simultaneously become deputy editor-in-chief of *Blick*. The existing Content Hub will be dissolved, and 10 positions will be eliminated.

Ringier Media Switzerland, or RMS for short, wants to strengthen its cross-media expertise by bringing together all audio and video activities in a newly created "powerhouse". Under the leadership of Daniel Egli, Head of Video & Audio RMS, all moving image and audio content of the RMS media brands will be coordinated, created and produced centrally from November 1, 2025.

The aim is to make even better use of synergies, harmonize quality standards and further increase innovative strength in the audio and video sector. Daniel Egli reports to Sandro Inguscio, Chief Digital Officer RMS. The new powerhouse approach enables even closer integration of the RMS media brands with their moving image and audio content: from news and reports to podcasts and social media formats.

Sandro Inguscio, Chief Digital Officer and member of the RMS Executive Board, says: "The usage behavior of our users is changing rapidly - and with it the demand for our video and audio content. We want to take even more account of this. With Daniel Egli, we can count on innovative expertise and strong leadership qualities to successfully move into the future in these areas."

Daniel Egli has many years of experience in video and audio journalism. After his time as head of the Zurich local editorial team at Radio 24, he moved to Ringier in 2019 and played a key role in setting up Blick TV. He already manages the video reporters, coordinates the live broadcasts and content of all RMS titles and, as Head of Coordination, is a member of the Digital & Distribution management team.

Daniel Egli says: "The trust and the chance to further develop the audio and video activities of Ringier Media Switzerland together with the teams is a wonderful opportunity. We want to combine our journalistic strength and creative energy to create compelling content on all platforms."

Daniel Egli also becomes deputy editor-in-chief of Blick

In addition to his new role as Head of Video & Audio RMS, Egli will also take on the role of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Blick. He will support the co-management of the newsroom around Blick Editor-in-Chief Rolf Cavalli and Head of Digital Sandro Inguscio and integrate the new audio and video strategy directly into the processes and content.

Rolf Cavalli, Editor-in-Chief Blick: "I am looking forward to working even more closely with Daniel Egli. As my deputy, he will strengthen Blick's journalistic clout and help to further sharpen the newsroom in day-to-day business - with his experience, leadership and journalistic flair."

RMS Content Hub to be dissolved - 10 jobs lost

As part of this strategic realignment, the previous RMS Content Hub, which included subject areas such as audio and video formats, service/health, car/mobility, specials, Bolero and izzy projects, will be dissolved.

Most of the existing Content Hub employees will move to the new Audio & Video team and to the editorial teams of the RMS media brands. As part of the streamlining and focusing of structures, a total of 10 employees will be made redundant. The Ringier social plan will apply.

"With the new RMS Audio & Video team under the leadership of Daniel Egli, RMS is sending a clear signal for the further expansion of its multimedia expertise," the company announced - "and for the consistent further development of its brand world in an increasingly cross-platform media landscape."
