Ringier launches a new media brand for a young and urban audience
The Ringier media group aims to appeal to a «young, urban, and discerning social media audience» with its new media brand, Izzy. Following a three-month launch phase on Instagram and Facebook, the Izzymag.ch website will go live on Thursday.

The new brand has been publishing videos and images on Instagram and Facebook since September 19, according to a press release issued by Ringier on Thursday. On the newly launched Website there will now also be texts.
Ringier wants to appeal to the 20 to 35 age group with Izzy. The claim is "Courage to have an opinion. Really now." The contributions are to be a mixture of "intelligently produced entertainment and social issues".
Ralph Büchi, COO Ringier and responsible for the company's publishing activities, explains in the press release: "Izzy is currently gaining several thousand followers per week, making it the fastest growing media brand on social media in Switzerland. We are delighted with its success and are convinced that izzy will continue to offer the content that this important young target group wants."
Bernhard Brechbühl, Chief Content Officer of the Energy Group, is responsible for the new offering. Energy is already successfully pursuing a social content strategy. High-profile young journalists have been recruited for the editorial team: Anne-Sophie Keller (previously Migros-Magazin, author), Miriam Suter, Silvia Princigalli (both previously Annabelle) and Cedric Schild (previously Planet 105). Jonas Bayona is responsible for video and design - he was previously an expert in multimedia storytelling at SRF. Florian Scholl, previously Head of Social Media at the Blick Group, is in charge of marketing.
Branded content is at the heart of marketing: In collaboration with clients, Izzy creates and distributes social videos that are authentic, transparent and effective for young audiences. Danilo Ciaravolo (previously Head of Sales at Likemag) joined the team as Sales Manager. (hae/SDA/pd)
