The remaining 21 affected employees have employment contracts that are due to expire and will not be renewed, a Ringier spokeswoman confirmed on Friday in a report by Kleinreport. These are, for example, ordinary retirements or previously announced terminations.

Ringier announced at the beginning of November that the newspaper printing plant would fall victim to a reorganization of the parent company's printing business and would be closed at the end of 2018. On Thursday, it became known that the management had not agreed to the demands and proposals of the staff committee and trade unions following the conclusion of the consultation process.

The rejected proposals envisaged continued operation, meaning that 40 jobs would have had to be cut instead of 172. Now demand
Personnel Commission and the trade unions agreed on a social plan in accordance with Gav that is appropriate to the financial circumstances of the Ringier Group.

According to Ringier, the social concept for Adligenswil is practically identical to that of Swissprinters in Zofingen. This was applied during the closures of the various Swissprinters companies and during restructuring measures at Swissprinters in Zofingen in 2014 and 2015. However, there is still a need for negotiations on the current concept, said Urs Häner, President of the Personnel Commission, when asked. (SDA)
