Ringier: Blick am Abend expands distribution area

Blick am Abend has expanded its distribution area: As of July 1, the evening newspaper reaches its audience via twelve new localities. In addition, the version of the Blick am Abend app has been improved.

From July 1, commuters in the following cities can now look forward to the Blick am Abend: Solothurn, Zofingen, Gelterkinden, Rheinfelden, Brugg, Lenzburg, Frauenfeld, Weinfelden, Kreuzlingen, Sursee, Küssnacht am Rigi and Arth-Goldau. The blackberry-colored boxes will be set up these days in the area of the commuter flows and successively put into operation, Ringier wrote in a statement on Wednesday.

The area expansion will hardly have any impact on circulation because it is part of an ongoing optimization of the distribution area. Blick am Abend currently has a readership of 629,000 in the main distribution areas of Zurich, Bern, Basel, St. Gallen and Lucerne (MACH Basic 2012-1) - and the trend is still upward.

At the same time as expanding its distribution area, Blick am Abend also expanded its mobile application has been improved with version 1.2. From now on, the app is even easier to use and offers more current news already on the start page, the Ringier release continues. The most important changes: larger images, simpler navigation, news bundled by department, elegant side swipes and more. In addition, the loading time has been accelerated in the new version and the stability of the system has been improved.
