As of May 1, 2015, Maurice Velati will take over as editorial director at "Regionaljournal Aargau Solothurn. The 34-year-old Aargauer replaces Andreas Capaul, who is retiring.
Maurice Velati, 34, began his career in 2002 at Swiss Radio DRS with a stage. There he received his training as a radio editor in the regional editorial office in Aargau Solothurn. From 2004, he worked for several years as a regional correspondent, editor and presenter of the "Regionaljournal Aargau Solothurn" on DRS 1. He also produced contributions for national broadcasts such as "Echo der Zeit" or "Info 3". From 2010 to 2014, Maurice Velati was project manager online for the regional editorial offices of Swiss Radio and Television. At the same time, he took over as deputy editorial director of the Aargau Solothurn regional editorial office. Now he is acting as editorial director from May 1, 2015, taking over from Andreas Capaul.

Rolf Hieringer, Head of Regional Editing at Radio SRF: "With Maurice Velati, a young executive is taking over Regional Journal. Young, but with a big backpack filled with experience as deputy editorial director, with a lot of know-how from the digital world, with many years of radio experience. I'm sure he will lead the Aargau Solothurn regional editorial team prudently into the future."
His predecessor is retiring in May 2015: "Andreas Capaul has shaped Regionaljournal Aargau Solothurn for years," says Rolf Hieringer. "His foundation was always the public service. With his perseverance, with his knowledge and with his prudence, he made Regionaljournal a weighty voice that is heard and respected in the region. I thank him for everything and wish him all the best and much fulfillment for the time that is now coming."
