Merger of editorial offices at Somedia leads to staff reductions
As Somedia announced in late January, the editorial departments of the Graubünden editions of the *Südostschweiz* and the *Bündner Tagblatt* will be merged as of mid-April. Sixteen of the 127 permanent employees are affected by the merger.
This was announced by Somedia on Friday afternoon. The merger will avoid duplication, exploit synergies and optimize costs. For most of the 16 employees affected by the restructuring, internal alternative offers have been found within Somedia or reductions in workload have been offered. A total of 600 job percentages will be cut. The company management is taking care to make this slight reduction as socially acceptable as possible and to offer individual solutions to those affected, the statement continues. Some of the freelance employees will have their workload adjusted. (pd/hae)
