Raffaele Wiler now heads three CH-Media titles in Central Switzerland

On June 1, 2025, Raffaele Wiler will take over the management of the Urschweiz editorial team of CH Media's Central Switzerland newspaper titles, namely the Nidwaldner Zeitung, Obwaldner Zeitung and Urner Zeitung. He succeeds Florian Arnold, who is leaving the company at his own request.

CH Media's Urschweiz editorial team is responsible for the editorial content of the Nidwald newspaper, the Obwaldner Newspaper and the Uri Newspaper. Raffaele Wiler will take over as editor-in-chief in Stans at the beginning of June 2025. The 34-year-old was previously editor-in-chief of the Today portals.

Wiler grew up in the canton of Lucerne and has both professional and private roots in Central Switzerland. His journalistic career began at the Tages-Anzeiger. From 2020 he was with PilatusToday initially worked as an online editor and later as editorial director before taking over the editorial management of all Today portals. He studied history and political science at the University of Bern.

Wiler takes over from Arnold

Raffaele Wiler is taking over from Florian Arnold in the Urschweiz editorial team, who has decided to change his career and life situation after around five years as head of the editorial team. "My work as a journalist and editorial director has been very fulfilling. Now I'm looking forward to a new chapter in my life abroad," says Florian Arnold about his decision. He has been working for CH Media since 2011, starting as a trainee at the Uri NewspaperAfter graduating from the Swiss School of Journalism in Maz, he became deputy editor-in-chief and finally head of the Uri Newspaperbefore the merger to form the Urschweiz editorial team.
