Radioplayer Worldwide will manage Swiss radios directly from 2026

Starting in 2026, Swiss radio stations will be managed directly by Radioplayer Worldwide. The existing Swiss operating company will be dissolved to optimize collaboration with international development teams.

Swiss Radioplayer GmbH is handing over the operational management of its Swiss partner radio stations to Radioplayer Worldwide at the beginning of 2026. The decision was made following an internal analysis of the efficiency of the existing structure and strategic development in an increasingly technology-driven market. In addition, the central "Radioplayer team" already directly supports other markets such as the Netherlands and Sweden.

The provider ensures that Swiss radios can be found on platforms such as mobile apps, smart speakers, smart TVs, smartwatches and "automotive" operating systems such as Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. The restructuring will give Swiss partner stations more direct access, making the exchange more efficient.

Roland Baumgartner, CEO of the former Swiss Radioplayer GmbH, describes the move as a logical development: "Swiss Radioplayer is evolving, and the management is convinced that this step into the future is to the benefit of all partners." Yann Legarson, CEO of Radioplayer Worldwide, adds: "Swiss radio stations should be easy to find in every connected car, speaker and app. We look forward to working even more closely with all Swiss radio providers."

The "Swiss Radioplayer" was launched in 2018 as a joint industry solution of the Swiss private radio associations and SRG SSR. It currently brings together over 40 broadcasters with around 120 channels. Direct integration into digital platforms and vehicles is to be further developed in the future by Radioplayer Worldwide.
