Audience Council: Schawinski doesn't let guests talk enough
The Viewers' Council of SRG Deutschschweiz has criticized Roger Schawinski. The host of the SF program *Schawinski* does not give his guests enough opportunity to speak.
Schawinski hardly lets his guests speak and always keeps the upper hand. This was announced by the audience council on Tuesday. Roger Schawinski has been back as a presenter on Swiss television SF since August 22 after an interruption of more than 30 years. His show flickered Schawinski so far six times across the screens.
The audience council judged the high conversational tempo that the media pioneer had set in the first three broadcasts to be very strenuous. This had required the viewer's full concentration in each case. Although many topics were touched on, they were not discussed in depth.
The council also criticized the distribution of roles. Although Schawinski prepares himself extensively and intensively for his guests, he is "clearly the boss. The conversation therefore hardly takes place at eye level. The audience council would therefore like Schawinski to hold back more in the future and give the guests more space. Although a positive development in this direction was already recognizable after three broadcasts, the statement continues. In the medium term, the talk show could therefore develop into a valuable program.
So far, guests in the half-hour program have included private banker Konrad Hummler, globalization critic and former SP National Councilor Jean Ziegler, and SVP President Toni Brunner.
