Publica Data: Radio data published for the second half of 2010
On Tuesday, Publica Data released the radio data for the second half of 2010. On an average day during the second half of 2010, 89.1 percent of the population aged 15 and older in German-speaking Switzerland listened to the radio for an average of 131.5 minutes.
Both reach and use of the medium are slightly lower in the other language regions: 86.5% of people in Suisse romande listened to the radio for around 118 minutes a day. In Svizzera italiana, radio reached 88.0% of the population aged 15 and over and was used for 122.7 minutes per day.
SRG channels achieved a market share of 65.9% in German-speaking Switzerland. The private providers achieved a share of 29.3%. The DRS stations together achieved a market share of 61.3%. On average, around 1.8 million people in German-speaking Switzerland listened to DRS 1 every day, giving the station the largest market share of 33.9%. DRS 3 had an average of 1.4 million listeners (market share: 17.9 percent). The most popular private radio station continues to be Radio 24, with around 292,800 people in German-speaking Switzerland listening to the station every day (market share: 3.1%). Among private cable radio stations, Eviva is in first place with around 98,700 listeners and a market share of 1%.
