Pro Sieben Sat.1: Channel planned for older audience
The media group Pro Sieben Sat.1 no longer wants to concentrate solely on younger viewers.
"We are working on the development of a new, free-to-air television channel. Specifically, we are discussing a channel for older target groups, who are increasingly being courted by the advertising market," CEO Thomas Ebeling told Handelsblatt (Tuesday edition).
The aim is to reach new advertising customers with the channel. "This has already worked very well with women with Sixx," said Ebeling. With the new channel, Pro Sieben Sat.1 would primarily be competing with ARD and ZDF, which achieve high market shares among older viewers. The media group currently has four free-to-air TV channels in Germany: ProSieben, Sat.1, Kabel 1 and Sixx. (SDA/DAPD)
