Pietro Supino withdraws interview with Tages-Anzeiger

After the BaZ deal, the Tages-Anzeiger conducted an interview with Tamedia publisher Pietro Supino. It never appeared.

The story about the "disappeared" interview was made public by Switzerland in its current edition on the weekend. According to the report, the publisher felt that the interview had not been correctly reproduced by his own newspaper and stopped the interview from being published.

Tamedia explained the reasoning to Schweiz am Wochenende: Supino had just been on his way back from Basel to Zurich, which is why the interview was conducted by telephone. However, what was written did not correspond to what was said, which is why Supino, who had no time to revise it, asked for it to be printed verbatim. However, since no recording of the interview existed, it was decided not to publish it.

Tamedia bought the Basler Zeitung last week (Werbewoche.ch reported). The deal has been expected for some time and includes, among other things, a swap deal that will give Christoph Blocher access to various Tamedia free newspapers - including the Tagblatt der Stadt Zürich and two high-circulation publications in western Switzerland.
