Peter Edelmann retires
In the spring of 2015, there will be a change in management at Zürcher Oberland Medien. Director Peter Edelmann will retire effective April 30, 2015.
At the time of his retirement, 66-year-old Peter Edelmann will have been with ZO Medien for almost 40 years, 19 of which as a member and eleven as Chairman of the Executive Board. Under his commercial and technical leadership, the company successfully implemented the major technological changes that became necessary in the media industry in the 1980s and strategically prepared for the future in good time with its pioneering three-media strategy. The complete concentration on the regional media market with the withdrawal from commercial printing, the investments in a regional news portal, the launch of the weekly newspapers "regio" and the takeover of the "Anzeiger von Uster" and only recently the "Glattaler" have made the company, which is on an extremely solid financial footing, the leading media house in the Zurich Oberland.
According to a press release, the Board of Directors has appointed Dani Sigel as Peter Edelmann's successor as of May 1, 2015. The 50-year-old Sigel knows the media scene from his previous professional career, both from a publishing and journalistic perspective. Most recently, he was Publishing Director and Managing Director of Liechtensteiner Volksblatt AG for twelve years. He has been Head of Subscription Services and Marketing at Zürcher Oberland Medien since January 1, 2014.
