Ostschweiz am Sonntag appeared for the first time

As of Sunday, the Swiss media landscape has gained a new publication: *Ostschweiz am Sonntag* was published for the first time.

The seventh issue of the St. Galler Tagblatt and its head and partner papers focuses on events in eastern Switzerland (Werbewoche.ch reported). "Placing our main focus on eastern Switzerland does not, of course, mean that we put on blinkers and ignore what is happening to our left and right," write the Tagblatt management and editors-in-chief in the first issue.

Ostschweiz am Sonntag is published as a uniform seventh edition of St. Galler Tagblatt, Thurgauer Zeitung, Appenzeller Zeitung, Toggenburger Tagblatt, Der Rheintaler, Wiler Zeitung and Werdenberger & Obertoggenburger. The target is a Sunday circulation of at least 90'000 copies. The paper is divided into four bundles with editorial content and one bundle as a job advertiser. The pagination of Ostschweiz am Sonntag is looser than that of the St. Galler Tagblatt with fewer but wider columns. The proportion of pictures is also larger.

The Bund Reflexe is opened with a big interview with the First Public Prosecutor of the Canton of St. Gallen, Thomas Hansjakob. Topic: The ultra scene of the St. Gallen soccer club. Also included is a backgrounder on the decline of Bank Wegelin and the legacy of its co-owner Konrad Hummler at Notenstein.

Ostschweiz am Sonntag is the eighth Sunday newspaper in German-speaking Switzerland. With the merger of Südostschweiz am Sonntag and Sonntag, another title will disappear on March 24. From then on, the two papers will appear as Schweiz am Sonntag. (SDA)
