NZZ am Sonntag treats itself to its own website for its anniversary

The first issue of NZZ am Sonntag appeared on March 17, 2002. "The launch was an emotional moment. We had developed the newspaper from A to Z ourselves with a small, conspiratorial team, including Tobias Trevisan, Marcel Kohler and Thomi Häberling - who has sadly passed away - as well as the English newspaper designers Esterson/Porter," Felix E. Müller, who has been in charge of the newspaper since the first day and remains Editor-in-Chief to this day, recalls in a statement. "It was the biggest new launch in the history of the NZZ. That it became a success makes me and my great editorial crew especially happy today."

To mark the anniversary, NZZ am Sonntag is launching an eight-week interview series with prominent thinkers who comment on the big questions of our time. NZZ am Sonntag is also using the anniversary as an opportunity to thank its readers with various activities and offers. Between March and June, for example, the editorial team will be conducting numerous thematic Sunday walks for NZZ am Sonntag subscribers. These will take those interested on the trail of NZZ founder Salomon Gessner, for example, or on a gourmet tour of Zurich. In addition, there are limited special offers for the anniversary, such as a NZZ am Sonntag watch from Swatch or anniversary wines selected by wine columnist Peter Keller.

New site is managed throughout the week

In addition, in time for the anniversary, as of Friday NZZaS.ch online, and those interested will receive an NZZaS newsletter every Friday evening starting today. On the new website NZZaS.ch, the editorial team digitally prepares the best, most important and most surprising stories of the week, shows connections with timeless background articles, sets a weekly focus with in-depth topic dossiers and recommends exciting reading pieces every day.

NZZaS.ch will be hosted throughout the week, giving readers a taste of Sunday. "With NZZaS.ch, we are creating a digital presence for intelligent reading pleasure," says a delighted Chanchal Biswas, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of NZZ am Sonntag and project manager of NZZaS.ch. For the time being, the additional digital offering is only available to subscribers of NZZ am Sonntag.
