NZZ am Sonntag appears this weekend for the first time in a new design

The next issue of NZZ am Sonntag will feature a refreshed design and a slightly revised layout. Tyler Brûlé's London design agency Winkreative developed the adjustments together with the NZZ designers.

The editors want to better express the thematic breadth of the title and strengthen the magazine character of the newspaper, especially with the changes visible on the front page, says the NZZ-media group. "We are deliberately sending out visual signals that go in the direction of a magazine or weekly newspaper," editor-in-chief Luzi Bernet is quoted as saying in the release.

For example, there is a skybox that points out the topics of the rear newspaper bundles. More white space and color accents are intended to convey a relaxed reading experience. The newspaper head has also been lowered and slightly enlarged.

According to the press release, there will also be some adjustments to the content, although the structure and sequence of the newspaper bundles will remain unchanged. For example, the news of the week and the company's own research will now already be provided in the first bundle - where necessary - with classifications and background. In addition, there will be new subjects and the cultural reporting will be slightly expanded. (SDA)
