Emergency solution at "Rundschau" after presenter's bicycle accident

Schweizer Fernsehen SRF's political magazine "Rundschau" has run out of presenters at short notice. Because Dominik Meier is abroad and replacement Nicole Frank is on sick leave after a bicycle accident, journalist Fiona Endres had to step in.

As an exception, the October 2 edition will be hosted by "Rundschau" journalist Fiona Endres, SRF announced Wednesday on its media portal. Nicole Frank, who was supposed to host the show, is suffering from the consequences of a bicycle accident.

Endres has been part of the "Rundschau" editorial team since 2017 and knows the show well, as SRF media spokesman Stefan Wyss writes in response to a query from the Keystone-SDA news agency. She had shown in camera tests that she was a talent. "That's why we're giving her this chance and also trust her with the representation."

Information programs with a clear main presenter - in the case of "Rundschau" Dominik Meier - all have a substitute. Frank was supposed to represent Meier in each case. According to SRF, it is simply an unfortunate coincidence that Frank had an accident during Meier's absence, of all times.

Frank described her mishap to Blick.ch and Nau.ch. She was riding her bike on a forest path. She overlooked a rootstock and fell. Although she was wearing a helmet, she suffered a concussion, bruised ribs and abrasions all over her face. (SDA/hae)
