Niklaus Ullrich becomes Vice President of SRG Deutschschweiz
The Regional Council of SRG Deutschschweiz has elected Niklaus Ullrich as its new vice president. Ullrich is the cultural affairs representative for the canton of Basel-Landschaft and president of the SRG Basel Region. He replaces Axpo CEO Heinz Karrer, who stepped down from the committees at the end of last year.
Niklaus Ullrich has been the cultural representative of the canton of Basel-Landschaft since 1988. After studying in Munich and Basel, the 57-year-old previously worked as a director and festival director and as a freelancer for Schweizer Radio DRS in Studio Basel. Within SRG, Niklaus Ullrich has been President of SRG Region Basel since 1997. He has been a member of the SRG.D Regional Council since 2002, which elected him as a member of the SRG.D Board of Directors (now the SRG.D Regional Board) at the beginning of 2008.
