New layout for the Aargauer Zeitung

The Aargauer Zeitung and the papers in the Northwestern Switzerland network appeared in a new layout on Saturday. The design has been refreshed. The concept of two newspaper bundles has been retained. The important topics are covered extensively in the newspaper.

The various newspaper names of the association are in a slightly bolder font than before. The subtitle "Die Nordwestschweiz" is now "nordwestschweiz". The Aargauer Zeitung last revised its appearance in September 2010. The new layout reflects the zeitgeist of modern newspaper design, writes editor-in-chief Christian Dorer in the Saturday edition: "It looks elegant and serious, but still not boring." The editorial team had to decide what was important and appeared large. In the new, hierarchically structured layout, the headlines are therefore larger and the topics selected by the editorial team as relevant are presented more extensively. For example, the topic of the day is presented in large print on the second and third pages. The news texts are shorter.

The opinion page is given a prominent place. It now appears on the last page of the first newspaper bundle with national topics and sport. The second bundle is devoted entirely to events in the respective cantons and regions.

In addition to the Aargauer Zeitung, the Solothurner Zeitung, Basellandschaftliche Zeitung and Limmattaler Zeitung are also published in the Northwestern Switzerland media network. The Oltner Tagblatt and Zofinger Tagblatt also belong to the association as partners. (SDA)
