New trade journal Tactuel launched
On June 4, 2012, the first issue of Tactuel will be published—the first magazine in the field of services for the blind, visually impaired, and deaf-blind that is specifically aimed at a professional audience.
The specialist journal is published by the Swiss Central Association for the Blind (SZB) and, according to the press release, focuses on a variety of topics, editorial independence and a dense network of authors. Tactuel is primarily aimed at professionals who work with blind, visually impaired and deaf-blind people, of course those directly affected, but also relatives, friends and acquaintances as well as people from related professions - social workers, ophthalmologists, opticians and care professionals.
Tactuel was developed on the basis of "SZB-Information", which has been published since 1954, and relaunched as a specialist journal. The magazine is published three to four times a year in German and French; in addition to the printed edition, it is also available in Braille (Braille), in audio book format (Daisy) and as a download on the website Tactuel.ch and will be provided free of charge for the time being.
