Mörgeli present at Tamedia AGM
In the fall, the Tages-Anzeiger newspaper reported on Christoph Mörgeli and his position at the University of Zurich. The SVP politician lost his job as a result. Now he apparently wants to settle accounts with the newspaper.
He will appear as a shareholder at Tamedia's Annual General Meeting (AGM), as Sonntagsblick writes. Christoph Mörgeli has been a co-owner of the media group, which publishes the Tages-Anzeiger, for several days. The Zurich SVP National Councillor bought the share with the number 11178255 for CHF 133.70, which gives him the right to attend the AGM on April 26.
Mörgeli wants to appear as a speaker, writes Sonntagsblick. "I want to know why Tamedia is employing Tages-Anzeiger editor-in-chief Res Strehle, a man who was arrested as a squatter, cultivated close ties to terrorists and made anti-Semitic statements," explained Mörgeli. He demanded that Tamedia fill the position of Tagi boss. If anyone had to complain about a media campaign, it was him - and it was the Tages-Anzeiger, he continued according to Sonntagsblick. In the fall, the Tages-Anzeiger played the leading role in reporting on Mörgeli's job as head of the Institute of Medical History at the University of Zurich, which he ultimately lost. At the time, the newspaper quoted from an internal report by his superior. It stated that he had poor professional qualifications. "The Tagi had obtained and published the report illegally. So it's hypocritical for Strehle to complain that arrest photos of him from the 1980s are being published," said Mörgeli (Werbewoche.ch reported): Res Strehle turns to the Press Council).
Tamedia did not wish to comment on Mörgeli's share purchase when asked by Sonntagsblick.
