Meteomedia loses lead in "Tagesthemen" weather

Jörg Kachelmann's weather service Meteomedia loses the lead for the "Tagesthemen" weather program.

Although the company will continue to supply the weather data, the Bavaria subsidiary Cumulus will be responsible for production and presentation from January 1, 2012, said program director Volker Herres according to a spokesperson. The decision of the ARD directors on October 21 is still subject to committee approval, the spokesperson emphasized on Saturday in Cologne. Cumulus will now clarify which presenters will be engaged for the coming year. Claudia Kleinert and Sven Plöger currently present the weather after the "Tagesthemen".

Kachelmann founded Meteomedia, based in Switzerland, in 1990. The spectacular abuse trial against the 53-year-old finally came to an end a few weeks ago when the acquittal became legally binding. In the course of this, there was once again speculation about Kachelmann returning to the screen. (SDA)
