Media professionals from Solothurner Zeitung and SRG honored
The 17th Aargau/Solothurn Media Awards ceremony took place in Olten on Monday. The AZ Solothurner Zeitung and SRG each won two of the four categories.
The President of the Aargau/Solothurn Media Prize Association, Thomas Müller, was delighted to welcome another impressive number of around 160 guests from the world of media, politics and business to the Stadttheater Olten and announced that the "Online" category would be added to the Media Prize competition in 2015. Urs Hofmann, District Governor of the Canton of Aargau, paid tribute to the outstanding journalistic activities of the regional and local media companies in both cantons and was delighted with the great interest that the Media Prize AG/SO now enjoys in journalistic circles. Hofmann appealed to the media professionals, but also to the publishers, to continue to stand up for the independence of the editorial offices, as free reporting is an important asset of a modern and tolerant society.
