Matthias Zehnder becomes Editor-in-Chief of BZ Basel
Matthias Zehnder has been appointed editor-in-chief of the BZ Basel. He will assume this new position on November 1, 2012.
Matthias Zehnder will be responsible for the publishing activities of BZ Basel, BZ Basellandschaftliche Zeitung and the Basel edition of Der Sonntag. Zehnder studied German language and literature, philosophy and didactics at the University of Zurich. He entered journalism at the Winterthur daily newspaper Der Landbote. He founded and managed Switzerland's first media office specializing in new media and worked for Swiss television's "ComputerTAF" program from 1993 to 1996. From 1995, he was a regular contributor to Radio DRS and a freelance journalist for various Swiss media and the Swiss Dispatch Agency, mainly on technology topics. In 1996 he founded the magazine Slash, in 1997 the magazine Smile/anthrazit and in 2000 he co-founded the trade magazine Netzwoche. From 2001 to 2007, he worked as a publicist and media concept consultant with his own company in Basel, Matthiaszehnder.ch. In 2007 he became editor-in-chief of the Coopzeitung.
